Puranic Tales is made for children and the grown-ups who read alongside them. We built it kids-first: there are no third-party advertisements, no behavioural ad-tracking, and we never sell or rent anyone’s personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what we collect when you create a Family Account, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Puranic Tales, you agree to this policy.
A Family Account may only be created by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years or older. Children use the app under that grown-up’s account and supervision. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to set things up.
You can open the app and read your first two tales without signing in or giving us any information at all. Guest reading is stored only on your device.
To open the rest of the library and to save progress, a grown-up creates a free Family Account. Registration is what lets us keep each reader’s place, stars and journal safe across devices.
Account details: when you register with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address and a unique sign-in identifier from that provider.
Reader profiles: the nickname and avatar you create for each child. Please use a first name or a fun nickname — a child’s full identity is never required.
Reading activity: which tales have been opened or completed, stars earned, and journal reflections a child chooses to save. This is what we sync so progress follows your family from one device to the next.
Basic technical data: app version, device type, and error diagnostics, used only to keep the app working and to fix problems.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or advertising identifiers. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track your child across other apps or websites.
To provide the app, support you, and keep things safe. A child’s typed journal entries are cleaned on the device to strip out obvious personal details before they are saved.
Puranic Tales is designed to comply with children’s-privacy laws including US COPPA, EU/UK GDPR-K, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
We keep account and progress data only for as long as your Family Account is active. To delete your entire Family Account and all associated data, write to us at puranictales.ltd@gmail.com.
The tales are original retellings of ancient, public-domain myths, fables and short-stories from across the globe, created with care and reverence. The words, artwork, narration and characters are our own.
